What Goes In What Bin???

LANDFILL

Yes: Brocken glass and mirrors

Polystyrene, foam including meat trays, cups and packaging, used dish cloths and sponges, nappies, Band-Aids, disposable razors, cotton buds and dental floss, sanitary products, video tapes, ropes and kitty litter (wrapped)

No: No electrical items, batteries, paints, paint tins, oils, chemicals liquids, light globes and tubes, large pieces of timber, concrete bricks oil or rocks, hot ashes, food scraps or garden waste (it can go into your greens bin) and no items that can go in other bins.


RECYCLING

Yes: Milk and other drink bottles, including yoghurt, ice cream and margarine tubs, detergent and shampoo bottles, Berry puniest, biscuit trays, takeaway containers, plastic plates and cutlery, toys, covers from CDs and DVDs and video tapes, paper and cardboard, milk and juice containers, boxes, newspapers and magazine.

No: Plastic bags, soft plastic packaging, polyester, foam, mirrors, light globes and tubes electrical items, windows, glass, broken drinking glasses, coffee pods, fabric or clothing, video tapes or CDs, glass bottles, food scraps, or garden organics, nappies or sanitary items, wire or rope and liquids.


GREEN

Yes: lawn clippings garden pruning including leaves twigs weeds flowers and small branches.

No: Kitty litter, cling wrap, plastic packaging or foil, plastic bags (even if biodegradable,) kitchen sponges or cloths, nappies or sanitary items, plant pots, glass, dirt, soil or sand, stones, rocks, bricks or large logs or stumps, branches too big to fit in the bin, painted or treated timber, garden tools or hoses, hazardous or medical waste, cigarette butts, liquids, items that can go in another bin and household waste.


SOFT PLASTICS

Don’t forget Coles and Woolworths recycle your clean soft plastics,

Yes: Any clean scrunchable plastics such as lolly wrappers, muesli bar wrappers, chip packets, cling wrap and so on.

No: Any hard plastics, liquids, cans, bottles, paper, electrical items, glass, wood tissues foil anything that can go in another bin.
